CONVERSATIONS WITH CHARLIE ROBERTSON

CONVERSATIONS WITH CHARLIE ROBERTSON

Charlie Robertson, face of our Daydream Believer Byron campaign

What is something you’ve always wanted to try but you’ve been too scared to do?

Fruit! I’ve had a life long phobia of fruit and yes I know how ridiculously neurotic that sounds. However for some strange reason it just absolutely terrifies me and I’m talking all fruit, I can handle some but if you put an orange near me I will freak the hell out.

What made you laugh today?

The blue macaw dancing on the table at the restaurant I’m currently writing these answers at. I actually just had to come back to this as he just nipped a man on the finger which sent me into a fit of giggles.

What is one goal you are determined to achieve in your lifetime?

To get my motor cycle license and do a solo ride along the east coast of Australia.

What did you read most recently?

Sapiens - A brief history of mankind.

What is a cause you are passionate about?

Animal protection and conservation specifically surrounding sharks. They’re so misunderstood and one of my favourite animals and it breaks my heart seeing what humans are doing to this beautiful species.

If you could make a cameo in any TV show, what would it be?

Hannibal, it’s my new obsession. I’m really into crime, thriller and gore and would love to make a cameo as a badass detective or cop... hell, maybe even one of the victims!

What music/podcast are you listening to right now?

My go to playlists are always anything from the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s. I’ve been especially listening to a lot of Tom Jones, Chuck Berry, Elvis and Keb Mo lately.

What did you love most about our shoot?

I loved that after months and months of lockdown and being stuck in the city I got to escape to Byron Bay for a hot minute with the biggest crew of legends I could have ever asked for. The location was beyond beautiful and I always love getting to shoot with my old mate Simon Upton.
